What is the Artist Resource?

The Artist Resource is a free drop-in information facility at Fabrica designed to support the professional development of visual artists interested in Fabrica’s programme and approach.

The Artist Resource runs a free reference library, aimed at artists researching key topics such as fundraising, opportunities, volunteering, exhibition spaces and studios. The library is housed in the gallery and can be accessed during exhibitions, or by appointment outside of gallery opening hours by contacting the Artist Resource Manager at caitlin.heffernan@fabrica.org.uk or calling 01273 778646.

The Artist Resource Manager sources information on local, regional, national and cross-border opportunities, exhibitions and events, which is collated into a newsletter and sent out weekly. You can sign up for the newsletter at the left of this page.

Integral to the Artist Resource programme are the peer review groups that we run and hold at Fabrica. These range from a peer review group, artist parents group and an artist educator group. The Artist Resource is staffed two and a half days a week by the Artist Resource Manager and a small team of volunteers.

Artist Resource Events

The Artist Resource presents artist and curator talks, practical seminars, workshops and networking events for artists, often in collaboration with other arts organisations.

We can also host meetings for local arts groups.

We run 1-2-1 sessions throughout the year for artists to discuss key issues relating to their professional development with the Artist Resource Manager, a Fabrica Co-Director or exhibiting artists.

Making Space

Making Space is an opportunity for artists to use Fabrica to make new work, layout or document work or try something out for a small invited audience in Fabrica outside of our main exhibition programme. Please note that this is not an opportunity for an exhibition.
